Brief Description:
This file is a Pre-Pour Concrete Inspection Checklist. It is used on construction sites as a final review list to ensure that the structural element (such as foundations, columns, or slabs) is completely and correctly prepared before granting permission to pour the concrete.
Objective of the Report:
- Verification of Formwork (Forms): To verify the dimensions of the wooden or metallic forms, ensuring they are straight, level, and plumb, clean and oiled, and adequately braced to withstand the pressure of the concrete during pouring.
- Compliance of Reinforcement (Re-bar): To review the diameters of the steel bars used, spacing between bars, lengths of splices, concrete cover (clearance), and to ensure the steel is clean and free from rust or debris.
- Review of Sub-Foundation and Soil: To inspect the preparatory layers, such as soil compaction ratios, moisture content, and the cleanliness of the blinding layer.
- Approval of Embedded Items and MEP Utilities: To ensure the precise locations of anchor bolts, as well as the routing of plumbing pipes, electrical conduits, and mechanical installations before they are embedded in concrete.
- Determining Testing Requirements and Weather Conditions (Miscellaneous & Cubes): To specify the required number of concrete test cubes, and to document site readiness for weather protection (hot/cold weather), ensuring the quality of the concrete after hardening.
